Leonberg's Alyeska Snowflake Higa "Aly"

In the summer of 2013 my male was in his sixth year. As I suddenly rushed him to the pet hospital one morning he was diagnosed with a prostate infection they believed to be cancer. After much debate on surgeries it was my decision to hold off and have him put on antibiotics.

At this time I set out on a mission to find a female I could add to my pack. Upon calling the Adele v.Leonberg breeders, it was my decision to take the drive to Jasper, Indiana while my male was still sick and on medicine. I brought him back a beautiful young female I named Alyeska. This was the smartest thing I could have ever done to prolong the life of my male at the time. For upon my return he instantly came to life and his infection dissipated quickly as his affection for her grew.

Of course I fell in love with her on the road trip back home. I knew she was one special dog who quickly learned the seven basic commands I require of them. Last year, I could see my male deteriorating at a rapid pace. Aly was to be in heat soon for her third cycle so I jumped at the chance to impregnate her with his puppies.

For me and for my male, Alyeska has proved to be quite the life saver in my personal life as well as the service work she does in search and rescue. I find that I don't like going anywhere without her. She gives me such security. I'm very blessed to have had her come into our lives and I believe you would be very blessed to have one of her puppies as well.

White Cliff's Black Diamond Targhee

Targhee was born on July 9 of 2016, and I'm so happy that we had the chance to mate Alyeska with Taos before he left us. Now we have this beautiful female who looks just like him. She has made it easier for us to deal with his passing knowing that she will be able to carry on his royal lines.

Targhee's first litter is expected sometime in the 2018 season. Unfortunately, Alyeska will no longer be able to carry pups. We know Targhee can handle these duties since she has taken over for her mama Aly during her medical emergency.

Targhee has exhibited great skills in Avalanche Rescue and Recovery and we expect her to do just as well in her Cadaver Dog training. Her pedigree is such that I have already received three non-refundable deposits on any puppies she produces from other breeders.

Anyone would be very lucky to receive a pup from Targhee!
