Are your puppies registered?

Yes, All our dogs are AKC and UKC registered. We provide limited registration, but no longer sell our pups with full registration.

What is your price range?

Our price range varies from litter to litter. . A $500 nonrefundable deposit is applied to price of the dog. Dogs purchased without breeding rights will come with a limited registration only.

What form of payments do you accept?

We prefer to use PayPal as it is secure, fast and well documented (please include all fees when sending PayPal). While we accept checks, they are slower and riskier. We do not accept direct deposit, EFT or wire transfer. We will only accept cash in-person. Please include a memo with all payments indicating it is for a "White Cliff Shepherds male/female puppy". Checks must be made out to the owner of White Cliff Shepherds, "Lisalee Eckman".

Any health issues in the bloodlines?

No unusual health problems. Age will and has caught up with everyone of my dogs. I've had 9 of them from all over the world between the last 13-16 years. I believe health insurance is an important investment for any dog owner. There are many environmental factors to consider. Our puppies get all the basic shots. My motto is "if you raise a healthy dog, your dog will remain healthy for its life".

Do you have any feeding recommendations?

No dog food can possibly be appropriate for every life stage, lifestyle or health condition. However, these helpful articles may help you make a more informed decision when feeding your dog. Please, choose wisely, and when in doubt consult a veterinarian for help.

Are your puppies easy to train?

Yes! We prefer to provide you with a pup who is already potty trained and has the seven basic commands (come, sit, stay, down, off, heal, no). From puppy or kindergarten to adult and advanced obedience training, we are very busy during winter training our dogs in: K9, Search & Rescue, Avalanche Recovery, Sport Mushing, Emotional Support, Obedience, Special Needs, Forensic, Cadaver, Safety & Protection, Schutzhund Therapy, and more.

How often do you have new litters?

Once a year. We don't double up my female with two litters per year (she's my own service dog), so we only breed in the spring, and puppies usually arrive near summer time. Stay tuned for updates on our next litter.

Are your dogs for work or show?

Both. Our White Shepherds have been both Work and Show Dogs in the Short Hair category.

How do I get on the list for a White Shepherd puppy?

Just apply. Buyers who put down deposits are moved to the top of the waiting list.

Where are you located?

Alta, UT, at the bottom of Little Cottonwood canyon (the road you take to Snowbird and Alta ski/snowboard resorts). Please contact us for appointments and directions.

Do you ship your puppies?

I will not allow puppies to be shipped by air. However we work with a Utah company Arete for ground shipment only that will take care of your puppy with the utmost standards. It is up to the owner to arrange and pay for their own shipping.

When should I pick up my puppy?

6-8 weeks. Puppies must be paid for in full before they will be released or delivered. Puppies can be picked up during our hours of operation only. Exceptions to this rule must be made in advance by appointment only. Puppies are ready to go between 6-8 weeks. Pups who are not picked after that will accrue our boarding fees, as well as training fees to train your new pup during that time. Basic lessons are $150 per week and include: come, sit, stay, down, off, heel, no, and potty training.

Do you have a Buyer / Seller Agreement?

Can I get my deposit back?

There will be no refunds on deposits. The deposit to reserve your puppy is non-refundable. Once you have put a deposit with White Cliff Shepherds, your deposit will remain with us should circumstances arise that you cannot take your puppy at this time. However, we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone before, during or after our puppy season. In this event we will return in full all money paid up to that point.

What is your return policy?

No returns. We do not accept returns for any reason, including but not limited to: allergies, landlords, family, living circumstances or companions. However, we are willing to work with you should you need to place your dog in another home.

How do I get a Puppy?

Easy. Just fill out an application and we will contact you. We will not sell a Puppy to anyone who has not submitted an application.

What about breeding?

We no longer sell breeding rights. Sorry, All pups must be pets only.

Are White Shepherds albino?

No. In fact, it is against the breed standards to be "albino". This breed should have dark skin pigment, dark noses, and dark eyes, where albinos would have pink skin and blue or pink eyes. Poodles, American Eskimo Dogs (Samoyeds), Great Pyrenese, the Kuvasz, and many others, are also white but are not albino.

What is the difference between White and standard colored Shepherds?

Nothing. Other than color, the White Shepherd is identical to the standard colored Shepherd. Color does not affect the dog's physical structure, personality, temperament or trainability. According to von Stephanitz, the father of the breed, there is no bad color of a Shepherd Dog.

Are White Shepherds used for dog sports?

Yes! White Shepherds are extremely versatile, excelling in many sports ranging from agility and obedience, to shutzhund and police work. White Shepherds are even becoming popular for sports like dock diving and are very popular herding dogs. This amazing breed will gladly tackle any challenge you put in front of them!

Do White Shepherds make good family dogs?

Yes! A White Shepherd is a wonderful family dog. They love being a part of everything and joining in on your family events. These are dogs that need plenty of exercise and training and can not be forgotten in the back yard. This very loving breed can also be great with children and wants nothing more than to make their family happy and keep them safe. They are also very easy to train and willing to learn which helps them to adapt quickly to their families.

Why would I want a White Shepherd Dog?

Many reasons: White Shepherd owners are active in many phases of the dog world, including obedience clubs and all levels of obedience competition, judging, stewarding, and conformation showing of other breeds as well as conformation showing within the White Shepherd Dog Club. The support and comradery among White Shepherd owners is stronger than that among many of the more widely accepted breeds.
